MEMBERSHIP POLICIES: Chi Omega Policies on Membership and Human Dignity Chi Omega’s membership is composed of women of diverse racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds. An individual selected for membership must meet and maintain Fraternity requirements and reflect a genuine interest in realizing the Fraternity’s Purposes, which are Friendship, High Standards of Personnel, Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship, Career Development, Participation in Campus Activities and Community Service. Consistent with federal law, which recognizes the right of college social fraternities to maintain single sex membership practices, Chi Omega is a female organization. Chi Omega Fraternity believes that dignity, self-esteem and respect are inalienable rights of each individual and that there is no place for personal degradation within the membership of Chi Omega. Members ascribe to the belief that: every person is important in a civilized society and has something of truth and wisdom to offer; self-respect, esteem and respect for others are necessary for healthy relationships; and harassment, hazing or bullying is detrimental in building self-respect. Chi Omega supports the preservation of human dignity and the promotion of self-respect of each individual and does not condone any activity or behavior that is inappropriate, destructive, demeaning or abusive to anyone including oneself or any group. For additional inquiries reach out to chapter president at calchiomegapresident@gmail.com

ADA ACCESSIBILITY: Being an active member Chi Omega is an option for everyone and anyone. The entire main floor, including our kitchen and common areas, is easily accessible through a ramp in the parking lot of our house, we also have an ADA accessible bathroom on the main floor. Unfortunately, we live in a very old and historic house and the upstairs floors of our house containing the rest of the bedrooms of members are not ADA accessible.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: The Golden Mu scholarship is given out yearly to either one member or split between multiple members in our chapter. The scholarship totals $1,400. In addition to this chapter specific scholarship, there are national Chi Omega scholarships available year round through the Chi Omega Foundation, covering a range of scholarships dedicated for study abroad, leadership, and specific career fields, such as engineering or pursuing higher education after graduation. We also offer alumnae scholarships for after graduation as well, and they give out hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.
